Vide Public Notice dated 21.1.2025, Ministry of Home Affairs has reiterated that NGOS need to be registered or have prior permission under FCRA to utilise foreign contribution (FC) for only the defined purpose as per registration/prior permission.
FCRA registration certificate needs to be renewed within 6 months before expiry of validity and that FC funds cannot be received or utilised if the certificate ceases to exist/cancelled otherwise it will attract penal action under the Act.
